Antonia Lofaso
Antonia's Lofaso invites you to explore her inner world through her cuisine. The food she creates is a result of her interest in the culture that is Los Angeles, which was inspired by a visit in Los Angeles from Long Island's suburbs. Her belief of the fact that cavatelli and carnitas could coexist seamlessly on the same menu portrays a style that continues to evolve. The dishes she serves have a common vision, embracing the present as well as reminiscing about the old. Inspired by her Italian-American heritage Lofaso launched Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 and was instantly well-received. Lofaso's take on old-school Italian has been called one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian eateries. Lofaso is described as a neighborhood favorite who consistently delivers dishes that are authentic, tasty and welcoming. Lofaso was a student of legendary chefs and learned their sophisticated methods but she was not afraid to take extraordinary risks in order to follow her intuition. She worked closely with many celebrities and rose rapidly through the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago. In 2011 Lofaso partnered along with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to debut Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. The Lofaso is now settling at Black Market, and through the partnerships that she created. Her creative independence would be fostered through this collaboration. Black Market has no one direction in mind and is the same way. The course could start with chips of dill potato and shishito peppers followed by an ice cream roll Korean wings and a succession of meatballs. Antonia anchors the bold range of flavors. Lofaso joined forces with Penguin In 2012, she teamed up with Penguin to launch The Busy Mom's Cookbook, 100 Recipes to prepare Delicious Home-cooked Meals. The book tells her story about her struggles studying at her first French Culinary Institute and raising her daughter Xea.
