Gemma Christina Arterton was born in the town of Gravesend, Kent. Greater London. The actress is well-known as a character in films like Quantum of Solace, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, along with a host of other like 'Hansel & Grete: Witch Hunters. Her birthplace was in Gravesend, Kent, in Greater London. She began her career after attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she made her film debut with a supporting role in the comedic film "St Trinian's'. In the James Bond film Quantum of Solace the film, which came out within a short time, she was a supporting role. The film was average with mediocre reviews. The actress then played her role as the female protagonist in the action fantasy film 'Princess of Persia The Sands of Time'. She was also in an additional role in the French"Orphan" film "Orphan". Arterton has been nominated for many awards during her professional career, one of which was she was awarded the Empire Award for the best Newcomer' for 'Quantum of Solace' as well as the 'Evening Standard Theatre Award' for her performance in the musical 'Made in Dagenham'. She also won the Glamour Awards for the Woman of the Years in 2011.
